The RIDE center of excellence at Chalmers is currently carrying out a study connected to a long-term regional development project called Biomedical Development in Western Sweden (Biomedicinsk utveckling i Västsverige, BMV).在Chalmerse的RIDE中心最近正在投入稱為BMV關於區域性長期發展計畫的研究。
This project was started in 2005 with financial support of VINNOVA (The Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems) together with several regional actors from the public and private sectors. 這個計劃開始於2005年，經費來自於VINNOVA以及一些區域性公眾或是私人的腳色。
The overall aim is to create long-term sustainable growth in the biomedical field, based on internationally competitive research and business.

The role of the RIDE researchers is to follow over time how the project and the sectoral regional innovation system develop – thereby creating increased understanding for the dynamic mechanisms involved in innovation-based regional development and renewal.

Topic of the thesis 論文的主題
As part of this ongoing study, RIDE offers students from the MEI program an opportunity to carry out a MSc thesis project focussing on collaborative patterns in the biomedical industry (which includes firms involved in the development of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and biotechnology).身為研究者的一員，RIDE提供MEI的學生一個以研究在生物醫藥產業合作模式的論文機會。
The main purpose of the project would be to investigate how biomedical firms in Western Sweden collaborate with other actors in R&D. Potential partners include, inter alia, academic researchers, healthcare institutions, and other firms.
主要的目的是研究在瑞典西部的生醫公司如何和其他研發者的腳色合作。 潛在的合作對象包括學術研究者、保健機構和其他公司。
It would be of interest, for example, to map the importance of regional partners as compared to partners situated in other parts of Sweden or abroad. 這會是很有趣的題目，例如，研究向對於坐落在瑞典其他區域或是國外的夥伴，區域性夥伴的重要性。
Data collection should be carried out primarily through interviews with firms. 資料的收集主要是公司的訪問為主。
Further details regarding research questions, theoretical approaches and methodology should be discussed with the researchers responsible for the study of BMV (associate professors Jens Laage-Hellman, Chalmers, and Annika Rickne, Lund University).
